Kate Winslet in Berlin for “The Reader”

On Friday (February 6), British actress Kate Winslet poses on the red carpet for the premiere of the film The Reader by British director Stephen Daldry and presented out of competition at the 59th Berlinale Film Festival in Berlin.

The “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” hottie joined costars David Kross, and Ralph Fiennes, looking beautiful in black strapless dress and black heels.

Meanwhile, Kate will be up for two awards- Best Supporting Actress for “Revolutionary Road” and Best Actress for “The Reader.” Miss Winslet hopes she doesn’t have to go home empty-handed, saying:

“It would be nice to know what it feels like in that situation to win sometime. I don’t really want to be the most-nominated loser, that doesn’t kind of sound nice.”

“I’m tremendously lucky that in my life, I have received these nominations and got to play these extraordinary parts. But I think this year, more than any other year that I have been aware of, it feels very, very special.”

In related news, Kate made talks about her passionate love scenes with her young co-star in the movie “The Reader”:

“Quite a lot has been made of the love scenes and made of David’s age and he’s 18, he’s a young man, he’s extremely professional and he’s absolutely brilliant in the film,” she said.

“For me, it was all about making sure David understood exactly what was going to be happening whilst we were shooting those scenes because I’ve been in the position that I think Daniel was in—really not knowing what it was going to be like, how many people would be in the room,” Kate adds.

“But the truth is, at the end of the day, it is part of this job and it’s a very, very important part of this love story so we just got on with it really, and dare I say it, we actually kind of had a laugh.”
