Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have parted ways for the second time. The split reportedly occurred upon Miss Aniston’s return from “Marley & Me” promotions over in Europe. According to breaking reports:

“They had some disagreements and decided to not continue to see each other,” an insider tells People magazine. “Jen is moving on with her life like she always does. She seems happy.”

This is not the first time Aniston, 40, and Mayer, 31, have split. In August 2008, they called it quits. At the time Mayer held an impromptu press conference outside his gym in New York, explaining to the media: “I ended a relationship to be alone because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right.”

Still, lately the couple has seemed happy together. They met at a 2008 Oscar party last year, and were one of the hottest couples at this year’s show after a surprise appearance by Aniston as a presenter, with Mayer as her date. Mayer later said he was there to offer moral support to his girlfriend.

In a recent interview, Aniston said she didn’t believe any relationship was perfect, or was meant to last a lifetime. “Whoever said that every relationship has to last forever?” she told the U.K.’s Mail on Sunday’s You magazine. “That’s hoping for too much.”

The “Rumor Has It” hottie wore a strapless champagne-colored beaded gown along with a braided-bangs hairdo as she arrived at the 81st Annual Academy Awards tonight (February 22). Jennifer Aniston made her way down the red carpet with her boyfriend John Mayer, sporting a classic black tuxedo.

Jennifer Aniston has been all over the media as of late as she continues her onslaught of promotion for “Marley and Me.” With her 40th birthday coming up next week, the “Break Up” starlet admitted the idea of aging quite well. During her recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, she talked a bit about the fact that she’s closing in on 40, and how it’s actually a positive thing for her.

She said,

“I have to say really, I feel better than I ever felt in my life. I did have a moment, though, over the weekend my first like huh … I don’t want to [turn 40].”

“I found a really long gray hair, and it kind of flipped me out. It’s not my first, but it’s the fact that it was so long. I was like, ‘Oh that’s been there. How many others are there, and what does that mean? It actually brought me to tears, slightly.”

About Sleepovers, Mayer revealed:

“Yeah there are sleepovers, yeah. Yes. Yes there are. Yes there are sleepovers,” when asked if he stays the night at Jen’s house.

“There is no normal thing in the Aniston house. You won’t find a light switch. The light switch is not antiquated – there is a six-button light panel. It does everything. The top button is ‘on,’ and the button right below that one seems to be an air horn, so in the middle of the night it’s very difficult.”

“I just want a switch that glows orange. Just give me a switch that glows orange, and I can swing my arm up [and turn on the light]. I don’t want a smart-home button.”

On Monday (January 26), John Mayer was spotted at LAX International Airport arriving from a transcontinental flight. The “Waiting on the World to Change” crooner sported a black cap and a matching black wool coat and Nike sneakers as he hide to paparazzi.

According to the latest news, John has helped his girlfriend Jennifer Aniston to get over the whole Brangelina drama - saying:

“You’ve got to go. Why do you hide in this town? You have every reason to be there. By presenting at the Oscars, you’ll tell the world: ‘I don’t care about Brad and Angie. I belong here, too.’ Jen is taking back ownership of her life. She’s gotta move on from this Brad and Angie thing. This is the perfect time, and I’ll be there to protect her.” He added, “Trust me, even if Brad and Angie both win Oscars, that won’t be the story of the night.” John told Jen.
