On Tuesday afternoon (July 21), Jessica Simpson was photographed leaving a personal training session in West Hollywood.

Having just recently split from quarterback beau Tony Romo, the “Do You Know?” singer still seemed to be battling the emotions of her failed romance - looking a bit down in the dumps compared to her usual cheerful self.

So far, Simpson has been coping with the split by living a low-key life and seeking solace with her parents, who “encourage her to go out and have a good time, like she did this week,” says the Simpson family friend.

But when she’s out in public, “she feels she’s being judged by the world and opts to hide out at home,” says the friend. “The family feels bad for Jessica. They worry for her a lot.”

That wasn’t always the case. “The family used to have such faith in [Jessica] and they worried about Ashlee,” says the family friend. “Now they are fully confident in Ashlee’s choices and they worry most of their days about Jessica. It seems she just can’t catch a break.”

Jessica Simpson and longtime boyfriend Tony Romo called it quits on Thursday, the day before Jessica’s 29th birthday, according to People:

“She is heartbroken,” says the source. “She loves Tony. But it’s been difficult lately. He’s busy with his career and she’s getting ready to shoot her show (The Price of Beauty). They decided to part ways.”
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback fueled breakup rumors when he showed up with about 14 friends at the Hollywood hotspot MyHouse on Friday night without the birthday girl, a source tells PEOPLE.
Simpson had planned to throw a Barbie and Ken-themed party for her birthday, but it fell through, according to a message she wrote on her Twitter page Saturday. “Barbie party didn’t happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!” she wrote.

Jessica and Tony, who began dating back in November of 2007, were always under pressure from the media, whether it was for her weight, or his poor performance on the field while she was in the stands.

Earlier this year, Jessica told press, “We don’t let it affect our relationship. If we did, we wouldn’t be together, because it happened at the very beginning. Dating the Cowboys quarterback comes with hype, the fans, the bloggers, but I’ve never dated a guy that was simpler. I’m always there for him after a game, and he knows he has me to come home to.”

Both Simpson and Romo is keeping mum about the situation right now, with both sides’ reps refusing to comment.

Meanwhile, According to Us Magazine President Obama was supposed to be featured on the cover of Us Weekly with his family, but found his face covered by Jessica Simpson.  Us Magazine reports:

Obama said, “Yeah, it’s a little hurtful,” he quipped when Matt Lauer showed him the newest issue of Us Weekly, on stands now, featuring a portrait of his family.

“You got replaced by Jessica Simpson!” added Lauer, who sat down with Obama before the Super Bowl aired Sunday on NBC.

“Who’s in a weight battle, apparently. Oh well!”
