Cristiano Ronaldo: Happy with team’s performance

Cristiano Ronaldo

On Monday (July 27), Cristiano Ronaldo was in fine form as he played against Al-Ittihad. The soccer stud was happy with his team’s performance, citing the fact that they need more experience together to hone their game.

He told press:

“We wanted to win but we’ve come up a against a tough team. But it doesn’t matter because we are in pre-season and the most important thing is that we continue getting into shape. I’m happy.”

“Now what we have to think about is getting in shape. What happened is normal because we’ve only been working together for 17 days and the key thing is to work hard to be able to start the league as strong as possible.”

Celebrity Fashion: Cristiano Ronaldo

Celebrity Fashion

Superstar footballer and international ladies’ man Cristiano Ronaldo continues to enjoy life after becoming the most expensive footballer in history, returning to Los Angeles, California Monday afternoon. Despite his macho status on the pitch, he flaunted his effeminate fashion sense and love for designer goods as he strutted the LA streets in Gucci including a jacket, belt, and handbag as he strolled past the paparazzi. The bronzed Lothario also revealed some acne blemishes, most likely due to his excessive love for being doused in suntan oil as he lounges poolside while on holiday.

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton is reportedly hooked up with Mr. Ronaldo last week, Paris told press:

“He’s a very nice guy — and an incredible athlete. We’re getting to know each other and I have to leave it at that. Cristiano and I are good friends. Very good friends.”

A friend of Paris added:

“Paris has just got out of two serious relationships, so she might not be ready to jump straight into another one. But they have been texting and calling each other a lot. So, I wouldn’t be surprised…”

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of Manchester United’s star players, received the highest award in sports – the Ballon d’Or. The awards ceremony recently took place in Paris, France. Cristiano Ronaldo, who has achieved a Premier League and Champions League double, has scored forty-two goals for Manchester United. Cristiano revealed to the press that, “I never said that I was the best player in the world. I always said that I was well-placed to win the Ballon d’Or.”

He added, “I have always had a lot of respect for the other players. It is not necessary to say who is the best player in the world, but who has an advantage, and I was carried along by this hope. All the players nominated had the possibility of winning this prize. Me, I have had this possibility and this privilege, but all the nominees had the qualities to win the award.”

However, Cristiano has more than football on his mind. Along with his Manchester United teammates, he showed support for UNICEF in the recent UNICEF Gala held in Manchester, England. The UNICEF Gala was held in the Old Trafford home. While Cristiano was in Old Trafford, he went to look at Manchester United playing in the Carling Cup. Sources have revealed that Cristiano may be trying to work out a better deal with his team. A representative for Cristiano said, “It is normal, that a footballer wants a deal to go with his status and one that matches his performances on the field. But nobody has prepared anything concrete. We want to avoid all these rumors in the press and will have contact with United. We do predict a meeting with Manchester United to speak about the future of Ronaldo, but still there is not an exact date.”

Cristiano must be hard at work preparing for his team’s upcoming match against Brazil, where he’ll be facing football sensation Kaka. Regarding the match, Kaka said, “The match is important for me because we’ll play at a stadium that’s a few paces from where I was born. And I want to make all Brazilian people happy and beat Cristiano, who will deservedly win the Ballon d’Or.”
